A message to all members of Friends of Yah Gbunblee Tongor
Thank you for joining our network. Together we can contribute to the lives of our brothers and sisters in
Liberia and across the globe. As you may know, Ms. Farinda Yah Gbunblee Tongor visited Liberia on a
fact finding mission, exploring interesting and meaningful ways to help rebuild Liberia. During the trip she
saw the need for agricultural, medical and educational assistance, among others. Immediately upon her
return to the United States, her friends decided to start Friends of Yah Gbunblee. The goal is to solicit
funds that would aid socio-economic assistance to our people.
She has a personal stake in this effort because in her town and surrounding villages, her peers and their
children are suffering; pregnant women lack basic medical care. Villagers lack safe drinking water. Many
children of school age are not in school and pupils are learning in poor or sub-standard conditions. There
are inadequate textbooks, and instructional materials. Families that once supported themselves through
subsistent farming are today malnourished and hungry. While there is abundant land to cultivate, farmers
lack tools and seeds. These conditions are robbing generations of their potentials to thrive and succeed.
But with little assistance from you, they can once again farm, feed their families, and trade the surplus to
finance their families’ medical and educational expenses.
Our goal is that we can all work together to collect cash, kind and contributions to ship a 40-foot container
with medical, agricultural and educational supplies to Liberia. The supplies will give some immediate relief.

easy payment method.
We will send out letters, news briefs and post information on the website to keep you informed about
progress towards the achievement of this goal and how funds are being used.
