Miss Liberia Texas 2004

My name is Satta Miniatu Musa.  I am  Miss Liberia Texas 2004-2005.  I’m
currently a student at Sam Houston State University where I am pursuing my
Bachelors Degree in Biology.  I anticipate graduation in May of 2006.  My
ultimate goal in life is to become an M.D. specializing in obstetrics  (labor and
delivery).  I choose to have a career in the medical field to make a difference in
society and what better way to do your part in society than to heal the sick and
give hope when there is otherwise none.  I feel passionate about my dream to
be a medical Doctor and I also would like to some day give aid to my birth
country of Liberia in rebuilding the healthcare system because I feel that would
be a vital part of Liberia’s advancement.

As Miss Liberia, I was privileged to compete in the national Miss Liberia in the U.
S. pageant which was held Philadelphia.  During this event I met many young
intelligent Liberian women who had similar goals and aspirations as I did.  It was
refreshing to share stories and experiences with them knowing that I was not
going through it alone.  Through out the pageant we were treated like the true
queens we are.  From photo shoots to guest appearances at various events, we
were royalty for sure.  It was quite an experience.  Through it all, I learned that
Liberia has produced great minds and if we use over knowledge to make a
change in our country, than there is hope for Liberia.

I am thankful for the opportunity and I hope the next Miss Liberia Texas enjoys
her reign  as I enjoyed mine.

God Bless Liberia and God Bless the United States.
